The last words Legna said we’re “I’m done”. Her Father looked at her.
“Your done?” He asked.
Legna looked at Gabriel and took his hand.
“I don’t care about this bloody prophecy. You can put one of your other children to take over
or something.”
“No, you’re the one”.
“Then I guess there’s only one thing left, Father. Make me human.”
“What ?!” Aris and Gabriel yelled simultaneously in surprise. Gabriel took her face in his hands.
“No don’t do this”, he told her looking into her eyes with anger. Legna sighed, closed her eyes and
looked at him,
“It’s my decision, Gabriel.” She turned to Zeus, “Well?”
“You know that’s never going to happen” Zeus’ answer was firm.
”I don’t care, I’m dome with fighting, I want to breath. Let Gabriel be the ruler,” she begged her father.
“I can’t do this anymore.” She turned to Gabriel. “I love you, but I’m dying here. This is for the best. You can still love me as a human right? I’m just going to be mortal,” she smiled at him. Gabriel didn’t answer. Legna looked at him as she tried to keep a tear from falling down her face. She turned back to Zeus. “Just get this over with please. If you love me as your daughter, spare me from this. If you ever cared for me you’ll grant my wish. Just let me live. Just let me be”.
Zeus thought for a moment, ”if this will make you happy, then let it be done”. Legna looked at Gabriel and touched his face.
”Don’t do this”, he whispered.
”If you love me, you should understand. Along with my Devinity there goes my love for you”.
“Legna..”
“Shh. Don’t say a word”. She kissed him, taking his breath away. A tear rolled down her face, and she moved her lips from his slowly and leant her cheek against his. She took a deep breath raised an eyebrow and said looking down at him. ”It’s officially over now, sealed with a kiss”. She looked at Zeus. “Let’s get this over with.” Zeus lifted a thunderbolt from the sky.
“From this moment on you’ll be human. Goodbye my beloved child.” A bright light filled the place and then it was dark. Legna opened her eyes and saw Gabriel looking at her. Only the moon was visible in the sky, and everything else was gone.
“Gabriel let go of me,” she tried to push him away, but he pushed her against the wall. Forcing his lips to hers. She was too weak to resist. He let her breathe and stared in her eyes.
“Why are you doing this to me?” She cried out, her face still touching his.
“I can’t let you leave”. She swallowed. His body lay on top of hers on the wall. She wanted to push him away so she could run from him, but he was restraining her hands. His face was inches from her. She was breathless, trying to fight the temptation of rushing to his lips.
“Let go off me”, she tried to push him effortlessly, “this is so not fair.”
“I know,” he smiled.
“Get off me.” He let go of her hands and she lay them on his chest, motionless. He smiled down at her.
”I hate you,” she sighed.
“Of course you do,” he touched her waist with his hands, and she could feel his breath on her lips. She sighed trying not to bite her lower lip, she didn’t manage it. He touched her lips with his thumb, kissing her neck and making her breathe faster.
”What do you want?” She asked him trying to remain calm.
”You.” She rested her head on the wall and looked up at him. He breathed on her neck, resting his head there. She felt her hands unconsciously moving inside his t-shirt, tracing his body with her fingers. He looked at her, fear was in his eyes. Fear that maybe tonight was the end. Whatever she was falling for tonight, whether she was going to give in and sleeping with him, this would be the last time. Lost in these thoughts, she felt her lips on his. Her hands pulled his t-shirt off and she ran her fingers through his hair. He removed her top, leaning into her. His hope died when she whispered, “this doesn’t mean anything.” Legna pushed him onto the bed. “One last time,” and she melted from desire under him, losing her breath from his kiss.
Gabriel’s hand on the empty pillow woke him up. Legna was putting on her jeans and looking for her converse. He sat up on the bed and looked at her.
“What are you doing?”
“Leaving,” she said putting on her shoes.
He was confused. “But I thought.”
“You thought? You thought what?”
“Last night-”
“Last night I couldn’t fight you back.”
“I don’t want you to leave.”
”It’s over Gabriel.”
”No, it’s not over!” He jumped of the bed revealing his muscles. She looked at him, then to his bare chest.
“Put a t-shirt on.” He grabbed her looked deep into her eyes. “Gabriel please…”
“No! I won’t let you do this.” He went to grab her hand but she pulled back looking at him, seriously now. It wasn’t the look of love he saw in her eyes now.These eyes were hard to read.
“You let this happen when you didn’t accept my decision to change. You didn’t take me as I am, Gabriel, and now what? You expect me to give in? I’m fed up with this. My love for you is gone, it went the moment you ripped out my heart. You can’t accept me without my immortality; as the daughter of Zeus. I gave up my father so that I could have a life with you. I gave up being a goddess for you. Just… just to live a normal life with you. But it didn’t please you, you only thought of yourself! So you’re not the one telling me don’t do this!” He kneeled on the ground and closed his eyes.
“Gabriel don’t make this harder for me.” She took a deep breath and walked to the closet to grab some clothes. He walked to her and held her back against his chest.
“Please…”
“That’s it!” She moved his hands from around her waist and walked out of the room, Gabriel ran after her. Legna was at the door and he yelled her name.
“Goodbye Gabriel”.
